Cultural Cookbook

Every weekend, a group of friends and I cooked a meal and/or dessert from a different culture. Our preparation included finding a recipe online, deciding who buys which ingredients, documenting the cooking process through a vlog (posted on Instagram) and enjoying our freshly cooked meal together. 🥘🍛

Purpose

My friend group's love for food and our diverse ethnic backgrounds inspired this part of my SSP. Cooking these meals together not only allowed us to enjoy each other's company every weekend, but it also taught us the differences and similarities of our cultures. For example, we bonded over learning the different ways we cook plantains or seeing which seasonings we let our chicken marinate in.
