For my Intellectual Engagement Pillar, I continued taking the AP Biology course. During SSP, this course focused on finishing a few units, preparing for the AP Exam in May and wrapping up with a final project. We met 3 times a week with Mondays being a longer extended block.

AP Exam Prep
The first couple of weeks of class were spent preparing for the AP Biology exam in May. We also finished up chapters on Gene Expression, Animal Behavior, and Ecology. Some days were spent doing practice multiple-choice questions and an optional free-response question to get us comfortable with timing and the test format.
After the exam, we began our exploration of fruit flies. In this final project, we created our own experiment to study fruit fly behavior under certain conditions. My group specifically analyzed fruit fly chemotaxis under different sugar concentrations.
